Academy EDU
Academy EDU is a wonderful teaching program offered within the Hilliard City School District. It's provided at the ILC, Innovative Learning Center, and is a double blocked year long class. Within the span of a school year students experience different grades and levels of teaching. Going through Elementary, Middle School, High School and Special Needs. Each section is roughly a 6 week observing period where students select a grade, school and teacher to observe and learn along with. Academy EDU is an amazing program that Hilliard is very fourante to be able to offer to all three Hilliard High Schools.
My EDU Experience!
I have found Academy EDU to be absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend it to future students wanting to pursue a career in education. The key experience to EDU is being able to get out into the field and getting that hands on feel. Really start to understand what teaching is like and find the right grade, or path for you. I've found the early years to be my favorite, mainly 3rd grade. I loved everything about the kids and my mentors. Academy Edu allows you the great opportunity to figure out if teaching is right for you and guide you in the right direction.
